The TV clues came over Japan, and broadcasted
about Japan. Interviewed American-born Sumo wrestlers, or so on. H.E.
was one of the interviewee.
It was broadcasted in Japan as well as a special program, but Larryfs
talk was dubbed with Japanese translation so I donft really know what
exactly he was sayingcI re-translated the Japanese dub to English.
H.E.fs talk was subtitled so as long as my English listening is alright
(???) will be right.
(Larry)
Ladies & Gentleman, Mr. Demon KogureI (H.E.Demon)
Guhahahahaha! Hello humans, this is Demon.
Uahhahhahhahhac.!
(Larry)
c.OK! (at a loss)
So, you would like to test my interviewing skills?
(He looked like smiling at somebody behind, probably some of the
staff?)
Ahc cahc.. So what made you to get
into this business?
(H.E.Demon)
WhatcBusiness???
(Larry)
In other words, what is your job?
(H.E.Demon)
I am a Lord of darkness. We came from, wefve
come from another dimension.
(Larry)
Another dimension!? So, you mean,
you are not a human kind disguising like that?
(H.E.Demon)
This is me. this is real my style.
(Larry)
Do you normally return to a normal style? In other words, to become
like the people here (the Audience)?
( H.E.Demon)
Oh, sometimes.
(Larry)
Only gsometimesh?
( H.E.Demon)
Because, I'm always going around the world in
a costume, clothing, imitated style, like mankind.
(Larry)
So you mean, say, when you get on an airplane you wear a normal
clothes?
(H.E.Demon)
Yeah.
(Larry)
So why don't you wear a normal costume!? I
thought You said you were a load of darkness.
You donft have to flatter anybody I guess?
(H.E.Demon)
Oh, I'ts good question.
Well, our mission is very underground, so our mission is secret
c from searching, so, I must put a costume.
(Larry)
Buy the way, how many people are wearing like yours?
(H.E. Demon)
Ours?
(Larry)
You told me gOur missionh to me !? So,
I thought there must be some other people wearing like you??
(H.E. Demon)
Yes.
(Larry)
Where are they!?
(H.E. Demon)
Now, ......practicing their music.
(Larry)
Really (looks being released to know what he is and they are), So
you are in a group?
(H.E. Demon)
Yeah.
(Larry)
Aha ha, ha, hac. (looks like really releasedc),
well, Mr Demon Kogure, Lord of darkness,
when did you debut to the scene?
(H.E. Demon)
The scene?
(Larry)
Yes, scene!!
(Looks like gWhy you are repeating what Ifve
asked nowh --- Probably itfs cultural difference between
Japan and America, hefs not actually asking
it, he just mean gwellch by gThe scene?h)
(H.E. Demon)
Well aboutca hundred thousand years ago.
(Larry)
A hundred thousand !!!??? How was the world
like?
(H.E. Demon)
The world wasclikec frozen world.
(Larry)
Were you cold?
(H.E. Demon)
Very cold.
(Larry)
Ohc whatc?!?!
(stop asking this question and start laughing) aha,
aha, ahaccc
(H.E. Demon)
This costume is also very cold!
(Larry)
Ahac ahac ahac..(canft stop laughing) Ahc.
Please imagine a personfs face who just
turned on the TV after a drink c
(H.E. Demon)
(Laughs a bit)
(Larry)
Then, how how was it like after being warmer?
(H.E. Demon)
Well, being, very, very, comfortable.
(Larry)
So, please introduce yourselfcfor instance, about
your hair. What is that!???
(H.E. Demon)
(Laugh) Oh, it looks like a standing hair, but it hasc like c antenna.
(Larry)
Well, you mean you can contact with people? I guess you are hearing
what they are talking about in the world of darkness?
(H.E. Demon)
Yeah.
(Larry)
What is that you are wearing on your arm?
(H.E. Demon)
These? (Pointing at a part of his
costume, with lotfs of frogs on his shoulder)
(Larry)
Yes, these! (Looks like gWhy you
are copying my question!h)
(H.E. Demon)
These are conly the costume.
(Larry)
Only the costume. May I touch those?
(H.E. Demon)
Yeah, sure.
(Larry)
(Touch thosec) Ummm, well, ( ask for shaking hands, and H.E. stretched
out his hand, and they shook hands), oh, are you wearing black
manicure?
(H.E. Demon)
Oh, yeah. (Looks like he realised it now!!!)
(Larry)
Werenft you aware of that when you woke
up and had a cup of coffee?
(H.E. Demon)
(Laughs)Sometimes it's black, sometimes it's red, sometimes it'sc
brownc
(Larry)
I see. (Looks at a memo in his hand) so, are
you a king of pops?
(H.E. Demon)
Yeah, exactly. (He
bluffs and makes audience laugh)
(Larry)
OK. (Looks at a memo in his hand) so
you are popular among young people who are not understanding your
lyrics? I heard you are playing other Japanese pop stars and doing
concerts, but nobody understands the deep message of your songs?
Could you just sing a phrase of a song?
(H.E. Demon)
Oh,we have a song like this it's sing in English.
(Sings) Hundreds billion light years away,I heard the screams of
agony.Appearing to my natural instint,I know they're callin mec.[This
song is called gBeastsf gravesh]
(Keeps singing)And therefs c( stop singing) No, noc(looks like he
canft recall it)
(Larry)
Did it sell well !??? Did this song of agony
sell well???
(H.E. Demon)
(Laughs a bit) Yeah.
(Larry)
Isnft that a song a coal porter wrotec By the way, is gDemonh the
right pronunciation?
(H.E. Demon)
Yes but, Japanese can't pronounce "Demon".
(Larry)
So it becomes like gDaimonh?
(H.E. Demon)
Yes, they say gDaimonh
(Larry)
So, you are gDemonh as a demon, a devil??
(H.E. Demon)
Yeah. I'm a demon, and my name is "Demon" too.
(Larry)
So you are popular among teenagers, but you
donft think their parents have to worry about you? Or, do
they have to?
(H.E. Demon)
c.Pardon?
(Larry)
Well, we are from different dimensionsc
(H.E. Demon)
Yeahc.(He grimaces and agrees with
him)
(Larry)
By the way, going abroad, have you seen
any person who is stranger than you?
(H.E. Demon)
Never. (Looks quite confident)
(Larry)
So could you tell me, how long you take going
back to normal style? For instance, to put the hair down?
(H.E. Demon)
Not putting the hair down, this is my correct
style.
(Larry)
I know that!!! In other words, to
become like my style?
(H.E. Demon)
Ummc about 30 minutes. (Sounds like both g30h and g3h.. I go for
g30h)
(Larry)
3 minutes! (He heard it was 3 minutes!)
How you do your hair done?
(H.E. Demon)
Well, (he starts posing like praying with his handscand bows his
headc
(Larry)
Do you use a machine?
(H.E. Demon)
Not a machine, only mind control.
(Larry)
Ahc.mind control! (Looks quite impressed)
Do you have any plan coming over to US?
(H.E. Demon)
No, we have no plan, but I'd been living in United States.
(Larry)
Ifd like to sign up a contract with you?
(H.E. Demon)
Great.
(Larry)
I would like you to go around an American tour,
and make money!
(H.E. Demon)
Ohc
(Larry)
So, after commercials, wefre gonna say good bye. Please stay with
me until then.
(H.E. Demon)
O.K. Thank you.
(They shake hands)
They are given a big hand by the audience. Larry bows his head,
H.E.Demon responds and straightens up and throws his head back.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was after they played overseas(London, Spain) and they mentioned
about they might be releasing CDs in America.
(Actually they were offered a contract at the time, before this
interview , but they couldnft release a CD because the record company
went bankrupt.)
So watching this program, I felt, gOh, somebody
might offer a contract, but I might canft see them many times!h
Then there were comments from the presenters, one of them said he
asked Larryh Youfve interviewed Jean Simons
before, so you might not be surprised so muchh, but Larry
said hNo, but hefs a bit strange!h
